Day 52: I Want My Bottle Back

Hi everyone!

A little over six hours after I fell asleep, I woke up for my overnight snack.  For the second night in a row, Mom got up to nurse me instead of getting a bottle from Dad.  It’s so much more work for me to eat with Mom — bottles are easy-peasy!  I worked so hard eating that I didn’t want to fall asleep too easily, so Dad got up and rocked me back to sleep before hopping in the shower and taking off for work.

After an hour of “noisy sleep.” Mom moved me from my bassinet into bed with her.  I had breakfast at 9:00 and then Mom gave me a bath before taking a shower herself while I hung out in the bathroom.  I played on my activity mat before eating at 11:15, 12:00, 1:15, 2:15, and 3:00 — with just enough time in between to fuss a bit, sing a bit, and nap a bit.

I learned two new action-songs today.  What’s an action-song?  The Hokey-Pokey, for instance.  The song is really just a set of instructions!  We also sang “If you’re happy and you know it.”  Well, we had to edit the song a bit, since neither Mom nor I can really clap our hands when she’s holding me, even if we know we’re happy.  And, anyway, how can you be happy and not know it?  If you don’t know you’re happy, are you really happy?

Then I played in my bouncy seat before falling asleep for a nap and then having a snack at 5:00.  We had plans to have dinner with Uncle Mac at 6:30, so I got dressed up and got ready to go.  We met Dad and Uncle Mac down in the lobby and went to Raku for sushi.  The waitress kept touching me and admiring me, which was cool, except I was trying to sleep!

We stopped by one of Mom’s favorite places, Magnolia Bakery for dessert on our way home.  I had supper at 9:00 and then fell asleep at 9:30.

Put your right hand in and shake it all about…
